The Reading Glasses

Have you ever put on someone else's glasses? Just for fun?

And suddenly the world snaps into focus. The leaves on the trees have individual shapes. The signs across the street are readable. The tiny print on the back of the cereal box actually says something.

And you think, "Wait. Was I seeing blurry this whole time?"

You didn't know. Because you'd gotten used to it. The blur had crept in so gradually that you never noticed it was there.

The Quiet Blur

That's what vertebral subluxations are like.

They interfere with the messages traveling between your brain and your body. And it's a two-way street. Your brain sends messages down—"heart, keep beating," "stomach, digest lunch"—and your body sends messages back up—"I'm tired," "I'm stressed," "I need rest."

When a subluxation distorts those messages, it's like static on the line. The communication isn't clear. Your brain and body are still talking, but they're not hearing each other the way they should.

And here's the sneaky part: you don't feel the blur.

Most of your nervous system isn't wired for pain at all. Those fibers are busy running your organs, your glands, your immune system, and your mood—without sending you a single notification.

So you think "fine" is normal. You think "tired" is normal. You think "a little off" is normal.

But what if it's not? What if it's just the blur you've gotten used to?

You Don't Know What You're Missing

People ask me, "How will I know if I have a subluxation?"

The honest answer is: you probably won't. Not until it's corrected.

Just like you don't know your vision was blurry until you put on glasses.

When I correct a subluxation, I'm not fixing you. I'm not treating you. Your body is a self-organizing, self-regulating you are—but it can only use the information it receives. When I clear an interference, I'm simply letting the communication flow the way it was designed to.

Your body has an innate intelligence—an inner healer, if you will—that coordinates everything your body does every second of every day. But it needs a clear line to work with.

When the messages get through clearly, your body is better able to adapt. It's better able to coordinate its functions. Sometimes that shows up in obvious ways. Sometimes it doesn't. But the communication is clearer either way—whether you see it today or not.

A Humble Honesty

Now, I want to be honest with you. I can't always get rid of every bit of interference.

Life happens. Years of wear and tear. A spine with arthritis where bone spurs have crept into the foramen—the little doorways where your nerves exit. I might adjust and lessen that interference. But if a bone spur is physically poking at a nerve? I'm not going to magically erase that spur. That's a limitation of matter.

Sometimes I can only reduce the interference, not eliminate it completely. But less interference is still better than more. Clearer communication, even if not perfect communication, is still a win for your body.

The Eye Exam You Didn't Know You Needed

When you go for an eye exam, you don't know if you need glasses until the doctor asks, "Which is better? Option one? Or option two?"

"One."
"Two."
"One?"
"Two?"

You can't tell until you compare.

Chiropractic is like that eye exam. I check your spine for vertebral subluxations. Whether you feel them or not. Whether you've noticed any blur or not.

Because you might not know what you're missing.

See Clearly

Imagine what it would feel like to have your entire body communicating clearly—brain to body, body to brain—without the static of subluxations.

That's what I do. I don't treat conditions. I don't chase symptoms. I find subluxations and reduce the interference—so your brain and body can finally see each other clearly.

So get checked. You might be surprised by what comes into focus.

Because you don't know what you're missing until you see it.
